Deep Dream<\/span><\/h2>\n

I\u2019ve spent many years learning<\/span>
\nhow to fix life, only to discover<\/span>
\nat the end of the day<\/span>
\nthat life is not broken<\/span><\/p>\n

There is a hidden seed of greater wholeness<\/span>
\nin everyone and everything.<\/span>
\nWe serve life best<\/span>
\nwhen we water it<\/span>
\nand befriend it.<\/span>
\nWhen we listen before we act.<\/span><\/p>\n

In befriending life,<\/span>
\nwe do not make things happen<\/span>
\naccording to our own design.<\/span>
\nWe uncover something that is already happening<\/span>
\nin us and around us and<\/span>
\ncreate conditions that enable it.<\/span><\/p>\n

Everything is moving toward its place of wholeness<\/span>
\nalways struggling against the odds.<\/span><\/p>\n

Everything has a deep dream of itself and its fulfillment.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nMy Redux<\/span><\/h2>\n

As I sit with this poem several things bubble to the surface of my heart. \u00a0I suppose in simplest terms this could be summed \"Trust Life<\/strong>.\"<\/span><\/p>\n

I would qualify this trust as a trust in the God-who-loves; who works in and through life. \u00a0Who, like a master recycler, is working in all situations for the best possible outcomes. \u00a0Love is the divine energy that permeates, animates, and is the trajectory of the Christ in us, the hope of Glory. \u00a0You see, we came from love, and to love we will return.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nothing. \u00a0Nothing created, or above, things past, to come, heights, depth, debt, governments, pandemics, climate crisis will ever separate us for the God-who-loves. \u00a0Yet, life happens, and life ends. \u00a0Life is full of great joys and great suffering. \u00a0As Ecclesiastes reminds us, there is a time for everything. \u00a0These are not to be ignored or spiritualized away.<\/span><\/p>\n

We embrace it.<\/span><\/p>\n

Feel it.<\/span><\/p>\n

We mourn it.<\/span><\/p>\n

And in time, we give thanks for it.<\/span><\/p>\n

We are never promised a painless easy life. \u00a0Those promises are best left to the cultural hucksters; both in the marketplace and in the pulpit. \u00a0These false expectations must be released so we can live into what is, and it is there we experience greater wholeness and the joy and peace we so desperately long for.<\/span><\/p>\n

We have something much more lovely. Much more robust.<\/span><\/p>\n

Even in the shadow of fear of death, we are not alone, and even when it may end in death, love reminds us that even death does not have the final say. \u00a0 Baked deep within the cosmos is the hidden seed. \u00a0The seed of self-giving love. \u00a0A seed full of potential for more love, moving towards greater wholeness - amidst the struggle, for the time being, a constant companion.<\/span><\/p>\n

You see, struggle is not always caused by sin. \u00a0Struggle seems to be a very tangible reality of the cosmos. \u00a0A part of it is birth, it's a part of the flow of evolution, it's death and rebirth. \u00a0Struggle can be a friend - an unwelcome friend. \u00a0So we let this unwelcome friend work in us. \u00a0We let it stretch us all the while leaning into the divine invitation contained within the hidden seed. \u00a0Responding to the invitations of the Spirit to choose love in every situation. \u00a0\"To listen before we act.\"<\/span><\/p>\n

In love there is bandwidth. \u00a0A multiplicity of loving possibilities to choose from, creative loving possibilities to co-create a kingdom of love throughout the cosmos. \u00a0Love is the life-blood of all that is. \u00a0 It is the river flowing from the beginning and returning to its source bringing healing and wholeness wherever it flows. \u00a0Love calls to love, and we will return to love.<\/span><\/p>\n
