{"id":14049,"date":"2018-08-14T08:50:33","date_gmt":"2018-08-14T08:50:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iamsignificant.ca\/?p=14049"},"modified":"2018-08-08T17:51:30","modified_gmt":"2018-08-08T17:51:30","slug":"be-a-ware","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iamsignificant.ca\/home\/soul-significance\/be-a-ware\/","title":{"rendered":"Be-A-ware"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p><span class=\"woj\">\u201c<span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><strong>Watch out!\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><strong> Jesus warned them. <span class=\"woj\">\u201cBeware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.\u201d <\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><strong><span class=\"woj\">&#8211; Mt. 16:6 TLB<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><b>Be-A-ware<\/b> of elevating our traditions and bias\u2019(hate, fear) above the Beautiful Way of radical, self-giving, self-emptying, inclusive love.<\/p>\n<p><b>Be-A-ware<\/b> of the hype, hip-ness, and appearance of genuine concern for the poor, the foreigner, the outcast BUT selectively &#8211; the \u2018right\u00a0kind of other.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><b>Be-A-ware<\/b> of making marginalized people mere tokens, who are paraded on platforms but do not get to meaningfully share in the life of the community (including leadership &amp; steward the power).<\/p>\n<p><b>Be-A-ware<\/b> of pitting one group of marginalized people against another group of marginalized people. It is the Church, not the Hunger Games.<\/p>\n<p><b>Be-A-ware<\/b> of sacrificing the defenceless and voiceless in the name of keeping the temple machinery running. For the blood of the saints is often used to grease the wheels of Big Box religion.<\/p>\n<p><b>Be-A-ware<\/b> of maintaining a pseudo-unity of the club at the expense of the marginalized, at the expense of love and justice.
