Avoiding Common Forms of Christian Insanity<\/a>&#8221;\u00a0 Exploring how God is faithful when we need Him most!<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"font-size: 13px;\">\n<p class=\"p1\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Many people are under the impression\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">that the holy God flees in the presence of sinful people, He cannot stand our sin and removes\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">Himself from us, but as we have seen it is quite the opposite. You can find Him smack in the\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">centre\u00a0of the mess that life often is, where a loving parent would be with their beloved child.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">A few years ago, I experienced a couple of challenging events within a short span. On\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">both occasions, it involved friends, both of whom were raging alcoholics, who needed some\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">medical care. In the first case, I held my friend\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.com\/B00AXS27ZK\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"http:\/\/amzn.com\/B00AXS27ZK noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-8165 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/iamsignificant.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/bookad.jpg\" alt=\"bookad\" width=\"250\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/iamsignificantca.lightningbasecdn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/bookad.jpg 250w, https:\/\/iamsignificantca.lightningbasecdn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/bookad-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/a>hands and told him stories while the massive\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">boil was lanced, relieving the acute pain and the vile infection. In the second, I stood beside my\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">friend after an industrial accident as the doctor removed the bloody glove from his mangled\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">hand, revealing shredded flesh and splintered bone. I can still hear the sound of the bone as it\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">was cut away. If I can love my friends and stay with them through the ugliness of these\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">procedures, then how much more faithful and loving is God?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Light dispels darkness, love dispels fear and while I was still a sinner, helpless to the\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">cancerous plague of sin, that\u00a0ravaged me, God sent Himself in Jesus. He wasn\u2019t repulsed by my\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">brokenness with its stench and ugliness nor did He flee in my greatest moments of need. He was\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">and is present and this is the Love Paradigm.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"An excerpt for &#8220;Becoming Love.
